For awhile now I've had this loud crackling noise that comes from my speakers and my headphones.... I've tried everything to try and fix it. I've tried different slots for my sound card, different drivers, unintalling and reinstalling, I've taken things out of my computer so my sound card isn't close to anything (I placed it in the bottom pci slot so there wouldn't be any interference and its not next to anything else). So I pretty much give up if no one has a solution to this lol.

I hear its a conflict with my mobo and sound card and if that's the case I was wondering if anyone out there could give me some advice on going back to my original onboard sound so I dont have to listen to this crackling anymore.
I tried uninstalling all of the creative and SB Audigy software and just installing my mobo sound drivers but it gave me this message (Driver not found! Reboot your system, and run this setup again.) Here is the link to my drivers for my onboard http://support.asus.com.tw/download/download.aspx?modelname=K8V%20SE%20Deluxe&SLanguage=en-us

There is probably a simple solution to my problem but i'm a total noob when it comes to computers. Do I just have to re-enable my onboard sound card? And if so... how do I go about doing that? Thank you to whomever reads this long post and gives me any advice at all.... lol.

You posted a well crafted plea for help. Often it takes several posts just to identify the problem.

This is not my strongest area.

I would try removing the sound card then starting it back up. See if it has sound. If not, go to control/panner hardware-system. That will list all your hardware click or right click (I forget which) on your on-board sound card and enable it. From here you can do lots of thing just by clicking. If it is enabled run a hardware test on it. From this location you can also reload drivers.

first you need romove your create sound card from computer
second use your on mainboard's sound card( it can change by bios settings).
it seems your sound card not compatible with mainboard. but maybe your settings not right.

from what i understand the card is working with the computer correct?? if you have installed the drivers and the card is working then that aspect of the card should be set!

sound cracking can almost always be directed to bad cables....did you try replacing them?? twisted ones give out distorted sound!! give it a try!

Thanks for the advice everyone I went back to my onboard sound card and my sound is fixed... no more crackling! =) .

The main reason I installed the sound blaster audigy zs, was so that I could use a microphone... my onboard didn't really work with a mic for some reason but I got it working kinda... it's all good.

Again thx for the advice everyone.
