Try 'DVD Flick'.
Use the 'Add Title' button for each file until the disk is full.

Check the settings to set the output as NTSC (North America) or PAL (for the rest of the world).

If you burn a HD .mkv to DVD with DVD Flick does it retain it's HD quality and play on standalone players?

It will be standard DVD format (720 x 480 for NTSC) with an AC3 audio track.
It won't have subtitles - unless they are added separately to the compilation.
It should behave as any burned disk a standalone DVD player.

Ah right so it's not much use for burning HD content to DVD to watch on a HD TV then

@Falconer,

I always wondered that too. 720x480 (NTSC) is max res on a standard def dvd player.

Which leaves me to this question, and referring to Falconer's original post.

Could an upconverting dvd player be able to handle res over 720, or hi-def res?

Thanks
