Hi -
Trying to burn an avi file to dvd format using dvd flick. When I load the movie & select burn it gives me this error:
There is not enough space available on drive d: to creat your dvd. you need at least 6718 mb of free space available to be able to complete the encoding. Are you sure you want to continue.

I select yes and it closes the program.
I have 29.9GB of free space. On the right side of the program it tells me I need 6718mb of space. then below that it says Disk space used: 2940mb of 4489mb

HELP ME!! What do I do to make this work?????

Is drive "d" the burner or the hard drive?
Usually the program is installed on the 'c' drive and that sounds like where the 29.9GB of space would be.

Is the output size under the project settings set for a target of
DVD 4.3?

the 4489mb is total disk space of a blank DVD5 (single sided blank DVD). and it says that you already wrote 2940mb to it! if you are using an RW disk.... then erase it first. but you still have a problem....... your AVI will go to 6.7GB! you will have to compress it before you burn it! for this reason I use ConvertXToDVD.... unless you set DVD Flick correctly..... I'm not familiar with that program..... but ConvertXToDVD seems to do a great job in converting AVIs and other formats to DVD and you can set it to burn to disk, too.

Hi attar: Yes it is set for dvd 4.3. Yesterday, I tried something new. I went to project settings & did everything the same, changed to ntsc, burn directly to dvd, creat iso image, etc... and on the first/main screen I set the destination to a new folder i created in c drive & it seemed to work just fine. Then at the very end after the encoding process was completed & it was ready to finalize & burn to my dvd, imgburn gave me this message: Device not ready (medium not present). What does that mean!!!??? I have a dvd burner installed on my computer. My computer is about 2 years old. Please help this beginner figure this out!

Hi IHoe.

The dvd is blank when I begin & once I put an image in my project it tells me that that's how much space I have left. It's about a 48 min. movie.

Is convertxtodvd a free download? Easy to use? Where can I get it?
