I have just replaced my old 21" TV with a 40" Full high definition LCD model. When I created slideshows on DVD for my old TV I reduced the resolution to 72dpi, which came out fine. I also resized the pictures to something like 514 by 344 (or thereabouts). When I show the old DVD on my new TV they are of very poor qualty, which I assume is due to their low resolution.

Can anyone advise what, approximately. resolution I should make my pictures (and what size) so that they loook good on my new TV?

I should add that the TV allows me to stick my memory stick in a slot and view them directly on the screen. They are perfect!
