In the DVD shrink screen we see the menus, the main film, and the extras. What exactly are the extras and can i completely strip them out.

I am trying to copy ali g, and if i could take out the extras the film would fit on one disk with no compression, but when i watch the extras it looks like they are part of the main film!!?

Hi again,
The extras are things like deleted scenes, interviews with the actors, how the special effects were done, etc.
Using Shrink 3.1.3 you can right click on the preview window, select audio and listen to the audio tracks. Very helpful. Use this to delete unneeded audio and free up some more room for less compression. You can determine if the audio track you selected contains the movie dialogue or the director's comments!

DVD Shrink is very good at determining what is the main movie, what is extras, what is menus etc... The reason why some look like the movie is most likely because they are alternative endings, deleted scenes, etc...There is a user guide in my signature to help you if u need it.

Hi tongx,
It doesn't sound like a compression problem, Try some high quality media. I use Memorex 4X +R.
You didn't mention how much compression you were using so I can only guess.
Try doing a movie with the main title only (minimal compression) and see if your problem goes away.

Only 4.7 GB discs are avalible (there are double sided discs which are 4.7 GB per side, but thats not what you are talking about).
A 4.7 GB disc is actually 4.36 GB.
