I am trying to find out how much ram this notebook will accept: Packard Bell Easy Note MZ35-U-005

I have done a quick google search but havn't found an answer. CPU-Z displays 4# slots for memory in the dropdown. It currently has 2x512mb and I want to put another 2x1GB in the remaining slots.

You would be far better off using 2x1GB on its own to guarantee compatibility and stability.

The motherboard chipset is the first determining factor as to how much RAM you can install. Most laptops made a year or more ago have a 2 Gigabyte limit. Even if you have a laptop that allows 4 gigabytes and you install it, you will see less than that. 32 bit operating systems can only address 4 gigabytes of memory and unfortunately this includes all devices in your computer that uses memory. So if you have a graphics card that uses 256 megabytes of memory that will be subtracted from the total memory your system is rated for. Same mentioned 2 one gigabyte sticks and that is a dead on recommendation for most laptops. Now if you have a laptop with a 64 bit operating system then 2 X 2 gigabyte sticks is recommended if your laptop supports it.
