Hey there again AD, i was just curious as to what you guys feel is the best monitor for under 200 bucks to go with the new gaming rig you helped me hook up with =)

Just for some further background, Does it have to say it's HD compatible in order to have HD quality images?

Also, how can i plug in my cable and game systems into it? Thanks guys! Sorry if this is in the wrong section!

monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009108

to hook up cable and consoles you will need a tv tuner

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009108

this one will let you hook up your cable and use your computer as a dvr, you can also use it to connect you console. HD is the resolution that a tv or monitor runs at. full hd is 1900 x 1080, the monitor i listed is 1680 x 1050. it will be able to display hd content at 720p.

Dell makes VERY good monitors, and I believe this will be better than the Acer.

Most LCD monitors in the $199 range are built with TN panels and all of them probably come from the same factory whether it is an Acer or a Dell. TN panels have fast response times, but have limited viewing angles and lower color accuracy. Dell probably makes a more reliable LCD monitor than Acer but always research your item. A couple of years ago Acer released a low priced 24 inch LCD that had an S-PVA panel made by Samsung which is vastly superior to TN panels.

The panels of the Acer monitors are similar to what you find in other screens, but the build quality certainly isn't. Dell above Acer, even if it means using a lower quality panel.

If I could get an S-PVA panel for the same price as a TN panel regardless of whose name is on it then I would say goodbye to the TN panel. TN panels are seriously inferior to an S-PVA panel. It's the difference between inaccurate color and poor viewing angles, versus superior color and wider viewing angles. No matter who puts their name on a monitor with an S-PVA panel, it is made by Samsung.
