Back up NWN2 to a DVD-R

I have the original for NWN2, so don't think I pirated it.

However, I have bad luck with my discs and usually scratch them up by dropping them and what not.

I wanna do what I do with all my other games and back it up. Problem is, NWN2 is a dual layer disc.

Would it be possible to burn this game to a single layer DVD-R?
