New games wont work on the R4

Everytime i try to access a new game on the R4
it doesnt work and prompt comes up saying "The save data could
not be accessed. Please turn the power off and reinsert the DS card"
Does this mean i cannot play new games?? Ive updated the R4 card but it still doesnt work.

This is because the game is looking for a certain eeprom in order to boot most games the eeprom has to be the right size 128kb to 16kb if this information is not found the game will not boot this is why patches are needed in order boot the game correctly so you need to find a patch system that is compatible with your cheat device.

it is a common problem regarding new games releases with R4 or M3 as you can see from other threads on this forum. but certain card are better at it with future releases such as acekard 2/rpg or supercard ds one. example, when Etrian Odyssey II was release, it works perfectly with the supercard while the R4/M3 have to wait for a patch.

First of all thanks for the replies its much appreciated ^^
Im still fairly new to using the R4. How do i use patches??
Do i have to put in an extra file or do i have to run the ds files through a certain program??

first of all what firmware version are you using for the r4ds ?

the latest so far is version 1.18 english and you can get it here - http://www.r4ds.com/soft/24-en.htm

Yeah i have the latest firmware but the games im trying to play are trauma centre 2 or hulk but its a no go... where do i get patched and how do i run them??

wierd the play just find on my m3real i didnt have to patch or anything

i dont know i always see people posting about games not working but they always work fine to me and i keeo my games list updated as soon as they come out and they work fine for me
