Hey, I'm trying to download an anime series and for some reason the combined speed of all my seeds will not exceed 6.0 kb/s. My boyfriend is personally seeding the file for me and has checked through everything on his end that would be limiting his upload speed... there's nothing. My download speed is unlimited, we are on the same port and that port is open on both our ends, I've looked up many "speed boosting" tips and tried them all, but still, with 2 or 3 seeds [yeah that's all I can get], and with my boyfriend able to seed up to 300 kb/s, there's no reason why I can't go even .1 kb/s over 6. It's getting ridiculous. Help?

Are there fewer peers than seeds, UPnp off, port over 10,000,router/ modem that needs port forwarding, firewall, upload set properly, ISP throttling: http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_ISPs Vista by any chance, it either seem's to work or not. Try Protocol Encryption: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/395674 Speed on other torrents has been fine?

There are no peers and 2 seeds at the moment although it does change, I'm on port 52835 and I did all the port forwarding, tested it, and it said it was open. I also made sure that port was on the list of accepted open ports on my firewall. I'm on XP, not vista, thank god. I'll try the ISP throttling. If I add another torrent, the speed is divided between the two to be 6.0 kb/s, but no higher.. so for instance if I have two torrents, the average speed on each will be 3.0 kb/s.

ok utorrent automatically tries to limit leechers that don't upload as much as they download

so i'm suspecting you put your up-limit to 1
put it to 6 and you will download at your full capacity
below 6 and utorrent will automatically limit the download to six times that value
update me with the results and have a nice day

I've never used it but this site should return good speeds: http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/ Let it run for 1/2 hour to check. By the way, 2 seeds is pretty poor unless one is your boyfrind but that wouldn't make other downloads slow. You could see if this firewall jpg helps: http://www.plucky.org/component/option,c...le,torrent.jpg/ Have you done a speed test and set your upload at speed guide>connection type, setting mine to 0 kills my speed but not that badly?

Where do I change the up-limit?
Stupid question but I just want to make sure I'm changing the right thing.

Wow, all I needed to do was change my speed according to the speed test. That was so simple, I could have sworn I did that initially! Now it is running much, much faster, thank you very much!

don't set it to your top up speed
all u need to keep the utorrent auto limit from going is 6k
just 80% of your true speed to keep some upload bandwidth for requesting pieces and browsing requests
