Hi
Here is my problem... I have been burning movies for a while, although not completely understanding all the ins and outs. I have recently bought an mpeg-4 player, to save me sitting in my office and watching movies! I download avi files, normally divx and this is where the wheels start to come off, I then use copy2dvd to burn the movies onto a dvd-r disc (although I have tried others, but this seems to be the easiest) everything seems fine until I try to play the disc... some movies work perfectly and some don't work at all.I was advised to buy DR Divx , which I did, and this solved the not working issue, but then gave me audio that was about 3 secs out of sync! or no audio at all. I think it is probably something to do with the way the audio was encoded when the movie was made, but I need help identifying which ones won't work (to save discs!) and how I get around the audio sync thing.
Thanks

Tony

You may need to use a program calledd IFOEdit to re-align the audio.

hi ya PAL!

how are you encoding your divx discs with dr divx?

Also you MUST not run any other apps when you do it, even screen savers, virus protection, etc! thats why the out of sync problems get started. Make sure you encode with the best possible settings and things should work fine. I have encoded many many many divx movies from DVD's and had the same problem as you did. Also what version of DR. Divx do you have?

best

Hi
Im using version 1.0.4 dr divx, Ive been messing around and seem to have foubd something that works (well for a couple of movies so far) I use TMEGEnc to encose the downloaded AVI file, then use dr divx on the created mpeg file... this seems to have sorted both the non working thing and the sync thing out... still not sure if this will work for everything, but will certainly take your advice the screen saver thing.
