I've tried to burn this .img of a DVD using Nero and Alcohol 120%. Neither will support this format.

I loaded the .img onto a virtual drive using Daemon Tools and viewed the DVD using PowerDVD XP and it worked.

So which prog would be best to burn this .img to DVD-R ?

Help appreciated.

When I started backing up DVDs I used ImgTool to make .img files and DVD Decryptor to burn them.

as vurbal already said, DVD Decrypter is the way to go. Use the ISO->write mode and select the .img file.
