Hi, i just tried to install Rainbow six Las vegas but there comes a list that tells you have the minimun requirements and theres one that doesnt meet the system requirements and thats "CPU Frequency" (Minimun needed 3.0Ghz and reccomended 3.5Ghz) I dont remember this happen the last time i installed the game (about half a year ago. Though i have formatted the computer many times, could it be i need to update the CPU Frequency or something? Or do i have to buy something to the computer? Im using : "Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2" - and the rest i cant see cause the bar is too short. Someone help me please, thank you.

the 3ghz minimum usually refers to a p4. so if you have a c2d you should not have any problems. just ignore the message and continue playing.

Same here. It gives me the same warning with my E6750 at stock but I know better.

Your E6600 is 2.4Ghz, not the 3Ghz the game asks for. However, the E6600 beats the living hell out of a Pentium D 3.0Ghz, which the game would pass, so don't worry about it. Your CPU is more than up to the job.

LOL! Harsh but so true XD

Even so I consider the Pentium D series semi-decent for gaming and awesome for everything else. They aren't slow, just slower than the newer stuff we have. The dual core really helps, especially if you were lucky enough to get a 9 series Presler with 2MB of L2 per core. I'd recommend at least a speed of 3.2GHz+ though to make it useful for anything new.

Another sign of why it's a terrible port. They recommend 3.5GHz... first off, wtf, abstract number for clock speeds anyone? At that performance level, everyone had an Athlon 64 anyway. Besides, I've seen games running fine on an even newer version of UT engine with a 3GHz Pentium 4 and an X1900GT. Try running RS: Vegas with that and tell me how it goes...

The Pentium Ds were acceptable for gaming before games like Supreme commander and Crysis came out, but they're a bit tired now. To think a 3.0Ghz E8400 is 90% faster than a 3.2Ghz Pentium D is a bit ridiculous.

Eh, that's true. I suppose my 3.4GHz Core 2 Duo would probably crush any Pentium 4/Pentium D pretty easily. I still wouldn't mind if someone gave me a Pentium D. I would definitely put it to use.
