When I tried to update to 4.01 M33, my PSP says:

The system configuration of this PSP system does not appear to be
correct. The update cannot be completed. Contact technical support for
assistance. (DRNFFFFFF80)

And when you hit back, the screen restarts. I've tried setting the kernal to 3.80 but the same error still occurs. Is there any way to fix this issue?

Download these two programs KeyCleaner and IdStorage Manager. However, they cant check all of them, but it wont do the best it can do

I googled the idstorage manager and the keycleaner and it seems that the main issues those fix are problems caused by old downgraders. Most people on those forum sites seem to suggest not messing with the keys unless it has something to do with one of those issues since it can ruin the USB connection completely. I currently have 3.80 M33-5 on my PSP and I've only downgraded it once with Pandora's battery to 1.50 and that was recently so I have a feeling it might not be that problem...
