Hi i have a sony dvd burner and an "optorite" dvd burner. Both worked fine like a week ago. i need to mass produce a dvd disc, and so was burning on both of them for a while, and they never worked right burning both at 4x, but when i'd burn them both at 2x they'd both work fine and all was going well. But now as of late, i can't even get ONE at a time to burn at 2x, they only burn at like 1.4x or so, and if i tyr to do them both it goes down to about .7x and is veyr inconsistent. I dunno if this is a software/driver problem or what. I am currently using DVD Decrypter to burn ISOs to these discs, but i seem to have the same problem if i use anyhting else. Also i'm using ritek g04 discs so i don't think it's the discs. Someone please help
they are in the same tower, but thast not it, because even if i only burn in one at a time, the same problem happens. could it be something happened to my windows install or something, because i find it hard to believe that two dvd burners would go faulty at the same time
Could be windows, can be a pain when it wants, i doubt its the burners going out, do you have both drives on the same IDE ribbon there can be a conflict with the IRQ, also are your jumpers set right, one to master and one to slave?
I sorta figured out the problem, no they are on different IDE controllers and the jumpers are correct. However i noticed that my old burner, when it burns totally uses up 100% of my processor, whereas my new one when it burns by itself (after i upgraded firmware) only uses up about 3% of my processor. so my new burner works fine, and i think my old one is shot, unless i can find something that is causing the problem, but as long as i just burn on the new one, it works fine.
It's a sony, but it wasn't because of the processor it was because of the burner, because the processor is a new Athlon XP 3200+ and i have over a gig of 400mhz DDR ram, the problem was the burner was screwed up and drained the processor, as opposed to the new one which uses less htan 3% at 4x.
