I have always heard that Electromagnetic Interference can cause systems to crash. I have also alomst always run my systems with the case sides removed & lots of extra holes cut for fans. I have also seen plastic (with no metal) computer cases.

So does Electromagnetic Interference actualy influence anything?

I tried a little experiment: I placed my system in front of an electic clothes-dryer, with both sides & the top removed. I put a 1000w microwave on one side, and a 2HP shop-vac on the other side. I then called my cordless home phone using my cell phone, and put both phones inside the system (still turned on). I also started the dryer, set the microwave to max for 20 minutes, and turned on the shop-vac...

...then I ran the system through 3DMark 06 without any problems, and with the same scores as before (plus or minus a couple points in each test).

So Electromagnetic Interference does not seem to do anything to a computer (unless you have a CRT screen). If I missed something here, please tell me.
