M3 Real queries. Soft reset and firmware.

Hi all, I am a newbie here, first post. I have been reading the excellent advice here for a while now and have just purchased an M£ Real cart. Following Mr Hanky's fantastic guide, I successfully loaded the required firmware and files. It is working fine.
I have a couple of questions that I can't seem to find answers for after a search.
1, I cannot get the soft reset to work on any game. I have tried all configurations but it doesn't make any difference. Can anyone shed any light on this please?

2, I have the latest recommended firmware on the M3 as described in Mr Hanky's guide. Should I now use Sakura? if so, do I need to remove the current firmware from the M3 before loading Sakura?

try setting it to the l+r+b+a+y setting and then in game press it o_O
*NOTE this doesnt work in all games get the latest firmware here they add support for more games with newer firmware

download the system file from the website
http://www.handheldsources.com/M3DS/Download_M3DSR.html

just stick with the original. the sakura firmware has alot of problems and its not even fully 100% in English and the cheat system doesnt work

Thank you Isaacbomb for your reply. That is the system file I am currently running (System V3.9 X ).
I don't quite understand what you mean by "press it o_O" (told you I was a newb :) )

while you in the game

still some games dont work with soft reset expecially alot fo the newer games
