Epson R285, a good printer?

Hey, does somebody have an Epson R285 printer? I will mostly use it for printing dvd covers and cd's.
Is it hard to print these cds? Maybe there is any tutorials out there?
I don't have any experience at all with printers, so help would be grateful.
How much does the cartridge cost, and how long do they last?
Also where can you buy it?
And which program is the best to burn dvd's?
Right now when I'm burning the quality is bad.
Im using convertxtodvd when I burn avi videos, haven't burn any dvds yet.

Epson printers are ok IF you can find cheap inks which work with them... Real epson inks cost about as much as the printer.. and the printers are really wasteful with it... bad epson!
Now why are you using convertx if you haven't burned any dvd's yet?.. doesn't make sense.

Alright, thank you. But I mean I have only burned files which is like 700 mb not files like 4.7 gb if you know what I mean.

I looked at Epson's homepage and I couldn't find any ink to r285.
But I came across this on ebay:

Is it a good price? How long do 12 ink cartridge last approxmaintly?
Also what do they mean with this:
2 x Black T0801
2 x Cyan T0802
2 x Magenta T0803
2 x Yellow T0804
2 x Light Cyan T0805
2 x Light Magenta T0806
Is it different colors? I don't really understand. I want to be able to print all colors. Should I pick two of each as standard then?

Crap in = crap out
ConvertxtoDVD has a quality meter built in. It should start at excellent and go down from there as you add more titles. I prefer to keep my quality in the excellent area.

Didn't find any ink to my printer, but was it the other one I sended OK? And can somebody tell me how long they do last, please?

They should be fine if you trust the seller.

I'll use it for cd printing and and dvd covers.
Now I noticed the Canon ip4500 is it better?

LOCOENG: Don't know which Epson you have, but instead of paying Rima $65.00 for 6 cartridges, you can do approximately 3 times better at www.inkjetsaver.com . For your information, Abacas began their old pricing again last week at $3.95 per cartridge and $4.99 flat rate shipping. Thought you might to know this? CIAO... TX_Outlaw

I have the 260 which I believe the 285 took the place of.I have yet to find any aftermarket carts to work for it. The 260 is a ink hog compared to y 340 and 220 which generic ink works very well for.TX_Outlaw thanks for the update about pricing coming back down.Sure miss the $1.85 price back a bit ago.amd123 the printer takes 6 cartridges to run one of each colorand mixes them when printing. I can print about 150 disk and 60 covers on the 260. Both of my 260 the first set of carts wouldn't allow me to change one when it got low I had to replace all six after that it allowed me to change one at a time.The one thing the 260 does do is print text 4 times faster than the 340.The software that comes from Epson for printing on disks is a piece of cake to use. And for printing covers I use undercover XP a free and simple program. I did buy the HP for disk printing but was locked into HP cartridges that are expensive and got nowhere the amount of printing amount compared to the Epson, another real ink hog.I had looked at the other but the chip setting turned me off.
