I have a bfg 8800 768mb graphics card and the amd quad core 9850 black edition processor and i need a suitable mobo, ram, and psu. i am currently looking at a CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W psu, and i know i want the mobo to be the best and RAM i want ddr2 1066. so is that a good psu? and what recommendations for mobo and ram?

You don't need a PSU that powerful unless you intend to use two of those cards. The HX520W will do fine.
I recommend Corsair Dominator PC8500 memory and a Gigabyte AM2+ motherboard.

Yes, one Nvidia card will work fine in a crossfire motherboard. SLI wont work.

Yes, the only PC parts that are region specific are potentially the DVD drives (though very unlikely with region changing software) and the Power Supply.

I very rarely advise high end AMD parts to be honest, so I don't know very much about the market. Quite rightfully everyone buys Core 2 Quads. I'd stick with Gigabyte or MSI for the board, Asus produce some good boards but they've produced a hell of a lot of bad ones, not really worth the risk.

Unless you want to SLI, you shouldn't want anything to do with Nvidia chipsets on motherboards.

MSI K9A2 Platinum should be good? i dont get the 16gb of ram support like the Gigabyte board but otherwise it looks pretty badass.

Don't get an SLI motherboard, you don't need to use SLI and you certainly don't want a troublesome SLI board.
