Looking to spend 700.00$ on /motherboard/memory/CPU
im interested in a Quad Core p45 preferably
16GB ram max, but ill just be using 8GB for the time being
and any fast ATX motherboard will do, something modern of course, plenty of SATA slots, and PCI-E ( i hear pci-e 2 is out now ? )
plenty of usb and other stuff.
with a budget like that can i get some feedback people ? any help is appreciated thanks!

IIRC, having too much ram is actually bad for your system, not that it will hurt it but it will decrease performace.

It will decrease your maximum potential overclock, but it won't decrease performance, not on a decent chipset like P45/X48 anyway.

well it looks like most motherboards out nowadays now support 16GB of ram ( 4 slots of 4gb ddr ) sot ahts waht i was aiming for.

4gb of ram should be more than enough for todays uses. 16gb seems to be a waste of money, honestly.
