I am using nero 5.5.9.0 to try and burn a split dvd (plane'trains & automobiles). I have followed the steps outlined by mscogna and on the doom9 page. However, every time I try to burn the 1st DVD i get the file reallocation error. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I am having this same problem. I have had some success correcting this problem in the past, but I have not been able to come up with an iron-clad procedure that works everytime. I have read in some of the other forums procedures others have used, but they have not worked for me.

In the times that I have been successful, I stripped the VOB pointers and created new ifo files. But like I stated above, this has not worked everytime.

What is extremely irritating is that I have no problems playing the movie from IfoEdit.

If you figure this one out, please let me know.

If your movie plays fine with IFOEdit, I'm almost sure that the problem is with Nero. As I mentioned on other threads, I found Nero to be an EXTREMELY frustrating way to burn, and would not recommend it - Sometimes it works fine, sometimes no. Then you never know what's causing the problems! The best way I've found is to make an image of the files first, then burn the image with something like DVD Decrypter. The only thing Nero is good for is to quick erase a DVD-RW so I can test my creation.

If it plays in ifoedit just burn it as a DVD ROM UDF/ISO in Nero not as a Video (not multisession untick joliet).
Make the folders VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS on the DVD unless you movie is already in a VIDEO_TS folder.

This will burn and play fine, never made a coaster yet out of a video that plays in IFOedit, using Nero and the above method.

Wow thanks the burning a DVD-ROM Iso/UDF is the only thing that worked for the file reallocation probs!
