it happened that some water had been spilt on my 3 months old new laptop, right through the keyboard. the laptop does turm on and you can hear the fan is on but nothing else is working(screen nor the dvd rom..)
I managed to open the laptop and i saw part of the mother board is rusty, i also tried to clean that rust with alcohol and vinagre(I know it sounds wiered), It looks like its clean now however nothing changed to the status of the laptop.
I would apreciate any other suggestion to help me get my laptop working right.

I guess that you forgot to say that you already sent it in!

Maybe someone else can help you out. I'd see how far I could skip it across calm water.

You probably shorted out your motherboard, or one of the many components you can short out inside a computer. If it's not turning on it's probably the motherboard or CPU.

You can't fix that. I doubt most people have the technical prowess to fix a complicated piece of equipment like a motherboard, much less a CPU. Your only chance is to see how much your CPU or motherboard costs on ebay.

You could find that the house contents insurance will have covered it check your policy or your ask parents, failing that & asssuming the battey had'nt short circuited the mobo or you dried the thing before turning it back on failing to do so will pretty much send it to the grave yard, you'll need to strip it completely & clean all terminals & connections with any luck it's just corrosion on some connectors other than that you'd be better off getting another, this time however get insurance for it,make sure the policy covers accidental water damage, better still don't put drinks near it or if you insist on doing so,do what i do keep the drink on another table away from the comp & on a towel so when a spill occurs it doesnt flow everywhere.

EDIT: There is another option when purchasing goods & that's using auction sites that sell old stock or ex display models etc from all the big manufacturers
