Hi all,

Someone please help as this prob is now haunting me........ I have made a few backups in my time but these lately have gone to pot. I have made the movies region free by using, DVD Shrink, IFOedit and dvd decrypter but to no avail. Still my Samsung HT-THX25 still says "Prohibited Play". Had the dvd player a few months now and never had any probs. The only thing that i have changed is my PC. NOw using a Toshiba Laptop P300. Spec as follows:-
Windows Vista Home Premium
Intel core 2 duo T8300
4 gig Ram
500 gig HDD
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
Pioneer DVD-RW DVRKD08A.

I think it must have something to do with the laptop as i never had this prob before. It seems as though the region code is not being removed. Well what do i know lol So i put this challenge to you experts to see what can be done. Please help!!

If you open the files with Pgcedit and click the 'globe', does it list all the regions.

HI,

Thanks for the response and i have completed what you have asked. I have ran the PGCedit and all regions are checked. The search for spm20 region code is checked and my results were......nothing apparently. Weird, says found 0 spm20:Player region code. But there is a big list of dummies. VMGM, LU1 (en) 1 through to 47, then VTSM, LU1 (en) 1 through to 7. Thanks for the help.

No the divx films seem to work fine on the player. It seems to be these ones that have the problem. It has baffled me. Do you think if i installed anydvd that would help?? Thanks again for your reply

Try taking a DVD that was burned on the former PC (that plays ok on the Samsung) and go through the process of burning it on the laptop (DVD Shrink, etc) it should play ok on the Samsung.
Then try AnyDVD.

Ok done as ask'd, they work fine burned by this and the old pc. Just the new ones wont. Well Snatch wont says play prohibited. There is no restrictions on the disk as all is removed.

I guess you are going to have to try either 'DVDFab HD Decrypter' or 'Anydvd'.
Good luck.
