Okay... I just have never understood console hacking... honestly, I'm very proficient with computers in general... but I've not once successfully hacked a console. Anyway, on to my question lol
I have a PS2... I have a PS2 memory card. I have DVD-RW's and i have swapmagic v3.6. Now, say I were to simply take this .iso that I have, and burn the image using imgburn, pop it into my PS2, then I should get that menu that allows me to then swap my cd's with my slidetool?
Where have I gone wrong? This simply does not work =(( any assistance would be helpful.
First, you have to find a way to block the sensors on your PS2 in order to succesfully swap your Magic disc to the ISO burned disc. Usually you can achieve this by using the magic keys or a home-made equivalent. Depeding on what version of PS2 you have, you will have to blcok 2 or 3 sensors. THe newer PS2 slims (silver) have only 2 sensors, whereas the older black ones have 3.
THere plenty of tutorials on youtube on how to block the sensors.
Today I finally modded my first PS2 with the swapmagic and the magic keys but it did not work for me. It might;ve been a bad burning since I used a DVD+R media from Ativa. In my experience with my PS2 the 3rd sensor is b*i*t*c*h to mod. I had to open up my console and glue a tiny piece of rubber to hold the thing down. There are also tutorial on youtube on how to open up your PS2.
