failed DVD ripping to +R DL using NERO v8

I am attempting to rip a DVD using NERO 8 and get repeated failures.
I am using _NEC DVD+-RW ND-3530A and have reinstalled the drive and reburned the flash memory. I would appreciate suggestions/advice. Here is the nero log:

Shut down some programs running in the background.
Your log doesn't state what type of media you're using other than it's a DVD+R DL disc. What brand are you using on this old burner?
99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

Why are you trying to write such a small file to a DL disc? That size file could be very easily written/burned to a SL disc.

I was recording on a Memorex DVD+R DL. The reason the fileis small is because I'm trying to test why I can't burn to DL. Is anyone able to identify specific causes for these errors?

Not quality media. 99% of bad DL burns is due to inferior media. The only reliable DVD+R DL media is Verbatim 2.4X made in Singapore. Note this error in your log:
