Hi there,

My desktop Sony Vaio VGC-LS1 optical drive is Matshuita UJ 846S, it only reads DVD/CDs, wont burn an ISO, erase a DVD, make a Metadata DVD using Nero7.11?

Its set at Region code 1 by default.

Hoping to hear from you smart people,

Regards!

sounds like its just a CD/DVD-ROM and NOT a writer/burner, so you will have to replace that optical drive with one that will write/burn. simple as that!

your drive is made by panasonic:

and it is a writer but I never liked the Matshuita drives because I have heard so many troubling stories about them! It is best to replace them with a more reliable burner.... or just add a better writer to your system and use the Matshuita drive as a reader (source drive) and burn to your new drive (try a Lite-on, Pioneer, Plextor) for burning!

Yezinki - any Matshita drives i've had/heard of have indeed been Panasonic drives underneath. Now let's please keep the language clean, and a little anger management always works wonders on forums.
