Hi,
I used AutoGK 2.45 to convert a DVD musical movie. Since I wanted to have the AVI on one disc, and in the best possible quality (video and audio as well), I choosed the folowing settings : For output size: "Target Quality" of 70% and for audio, which was in this case AC3 6ch, I checked in the Advanced Settings the "Original" option. For the codec I left the default setting, namely XviD. According to AutoGK's "Help", since in this case there was only one movie, at this stage I was supposed to click on "Start", however, this option wasn't available (the word "Start" was gray-coloured). So i clicked first on "Add job" and then on Start.
Indeed the resulting AVi is quite large : 2.33 GB (the DVD was 6.69 GB). I have no problem with playing it, however when I tried to load it into VirtualDub 1.7.7, there appeared the following message :"Warning: Nothing to output E:FFiAHE DECODER Lag"
Could somebody there help me to solve the problem ?
Thanks in advance
stibi
Hi attar and thanks for your instant response (as usual).
It's strange. Before I sent my requst for help, when I opened VirtualDub, then selected from the File menu "Open Video", and selected the said Avi there appeared that Warning. Now when I am doing the same, there appears no warning, however, instead of showing the AVI, VirtualDub shows a black window (actually two black windows -one on the left side and one on the right side).
Of course I tried to see with another Avi, whether VirtualDub works properly, and the it works.
Thaks in advance

Update to the latest VirtualDub (I think it's 1.8.5)
If the frame numbers show up below the slider, remove the first frame (frame Ø).
On frame Ø, click the left marker flag;step to frame 1, click the right flag.
'Edit' => 'Delete'.
'Video' => 'Fast Recompress' => 'Compression' => 'Xvid'.
'File' = 'Save as AVI'
Hi attar,
Thanks again for your immediate response.
I have downloaded the 1.8.5 of VirtualDub, however - I appologize for my ignorance - I don't understand how to do what you suggested. I thought frames appear in the srt file, however, as you, no doubt, know in VirtualDub one starts with opening the AVI - not the srt.
Can you help me with more detailed instructions ?
Thanks in advance
stibi
If the file loads ok, the frame numbers are listed at the bottom of the window.
Seeking through with the slider, the frame number indicator changes.
The little 'half flag' logos are used to mark off selections that you can edit.
