Playing videos on an M3DS Real

I've got a DS lite with an M3Real and was wondering how to play videos on it. A friend showed me how to convert videos to the proper format once, but when played in moonshell, one of the screens was an obnoxious bright pink and the video on the other hung like it needed to buffer every 3 seconds.

So i guess my question is, how does one flawlessly play vids on an M3Real?
