i have a dell 2008WFP monitor, pretty new, only like a month or 2 old. but i found out that there are a lot of stuck pixels on my screen. with a black background, i see a bunch of blinking green pixels. some are blinking green while others are just stuck on green.

how do i fix this?

well, unfortunately i bought it online at the dell website.

also, this is the first time i have ever encountered defective pixels before. and when i look at my desktop, i can see the green blinking pixels. and i read that they are easily visible with black background. so went on paint, painted it black, and full screened it. but then i couldnt see any green stuck pixels. so is it really a defective pixel or what?

try carefully pressing each pixel to see if that works as i did that once by trial & error & it worked. also do a search for a program called deadpixel installer & if can't find it then let me know as i have it.

if i have a stuck pixel, does it mean that i would be able to see pixels that are stuck on a single color, like green, no matter what window im opening??

like on the desktop, i can see a bunch of stuck green pixels. but when im on different windows like on mozilla and on games, i dont see any stuck green pixels.

either its that or the problem is like my video card and so green pixels appear?

it is the screen not the videocard that is causing the problem.

its weird because like, i realized that it depends on the picture.

for example, i look at this picture on a web browser, and i see like a group of speckling green dots on the upper right corner of the picture. so i did a screenshot and i pasted the picture on paint, zoomed in and i still saw the green dots on the upper right corner. it wasnt on the same pixels on the monitor, but on the same spot on the pictures. does that make sense?

im just still not convinced yet because the pixels on the monitor arent always stuck, its just the pixels in the picture that seem to have green dots. because like if it was the monitor then that pixel on the monitor should be blinking green no matter whats on the screen right?

I really like the old CRT monitors and tv they have better color and last so much longer. I got a 32" hdtv lcd like 8 months ago and its got some image retention while i love having my games and stuff in HD over HDMI CRTs rarely gave me trouble. Basicly i wish there was just 1 common HD type tv instead of 5 xD more focus would go into making them better. I got a LCD because of the no burn in thing but image retention seem to be basicly the same thing. While it has faded away justa little its still there. And then there this worrying about stuck pixels ill have to look out for =/
