Try ripping the DVD back to your hard drive either as an IMAGE file and burn it with DVD Decrypter or rip in FILE mode and burn with Nero.

"Burn, baby, BURN!"

Take a look at this guide.

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/small_dvd_2_dvdr.cfm

Forget the fact that the DVD that you want to backup is a copy. Follow this guide step by step. Basically, you will rip the contents of the DVD onto your hard drive, then you will burn it FROM your hard drive. If you try to copy "on the fly" in Nero, it is likely to encounter an error, especially if you are using two different drives on the same IDE channel. After you try this, let us know how it worked out for you....
