I keep getting errors when recording.
I'd burn a dvd then when its 99% complete I get an error. If i try again it goes through 100%. But its getting ridiculous. I have to burn two dvd's to get one movie. I have the latest version of imgburn. But its only after getting 99% on one that the next is successful.
I slowed the write speed, but no change.
This is the error message I receive.
I?O Error!

you don't mention the brand of media you are using? you want to use Taiyo Yuden,Verbatim or Sony burning at 6x to8x max with the most up to date firmware for the drive/burning. if none of the above work you're burner may be shot!

Im sorry. I really dont know the name of the burner. It came pre installed in my Laptop. Its a Gateway T-1625. I can say Ive probbably burned 20 dvds in the last 10 months. and burned 2 cds in the same time. And the DVD brand is
They say 1-16x. you think i should go 6x?? I only slowed to 12x.
Im using DVD FabDecryptor then DVD shrink then ImgBurn. All with most recent updates.

I think ZosoIV was after the brand of blank dvd you were using, not your burner.

If your burn speed on your laptop is 8x, then I would suggest either burning at 6x or 4x.
Also, what is the size of the files you are trying to burn? The max size on a dvd5 disk is usually 4484MB. I have my size set at 4300MB.

My suggestion is to use an external burner as Liteon or LG.
Pioneers are also good, but booktyping is possible using imgburn with liteons and LGs
Internal laptop burners are flimsy at best, good for reading, not so good for burning (occassional burning is ok)
When the chips are down, you can count on miltex !

You can booktype Pioneer's as well, if you hack them.

thank you everyone. i usually use the desk top for my burning, but every since the kids started using the desk top, things started going wrong. So i got a laptop. The desk top now had been out of service for awhile. (kids and Viruses) so my lap top is all i have for now.
Ill try the 6x speed and see what tht does.
