I just got my usbextreme and when I tried it in my ps2 slim it comes up with please insert a ps or ps2 format disk. What can i do if anything to fix this? Besides getting a new disk.

Do you have problems with any other Original Disks?

If yes, you could clean your laser with Isopropyl alcohol using a q-tip and just clean in circular motion on the lens.

Make sure the disc is pressed down properly on the spindle.

If you have no other problems, then yes you will need to exchange your disc for a new one.
