hi guys been doing alot of research on game saves and getting your pal games to play in your ntscps2 and most of them not if all have something in common and that is
usb flash drive and action replay(which i have but no use to me because it's in pal), swap magic(ordered it but never came), or codebreaker in order to transfer the files from flash drive to the memory card
what would you say if i told you i've found a way to do so but not 100% completeed
i've taken apart my old ps2 slim v12 which died a couple of hours after being chipped (laser melt in on itself and motor died)
and i've currently taken out the memory slot and an idea hit me like a rock over the head
won't it be so convenient if i can convert the memory card into a flash drive. so i could just go right on and transfer the files off pc
kool idea huh? but i have just one problem the memory card slot has 8 metal strips coming out from behind it a usb cable only has 4... so i need to know which wires go where in order for this technique to work
so post a reply if you know any bits of information to complete this little experiment of mines
The outside 2 pins on a USB are power, the other 2 are data. I don't know anything about a memory card pins, but I have a wild guess that the separate 2 pins are power, if memory cards need it.
you don't need the drivers if you're making it a jump drive, its still some form of sony memory stick technology. If anyone has any updates for the pin layout of the memory card, I'm interested as well, not so much for flash memory use, but I'm a very cheap person and have plenty of usb cables and would like to make my own card reader for the ps3. I know... I'm to cheap to spend 15 bucks.
still, it will not be recognized by the ps2. it doesn't use FAT/NTFS. that's why you need the cheating device because the software does recognize the format.
lol talk about cheap i only wanted to do this just to show off that yes i did the impossible and give credit to ever help me of course. i got my ps3 and i got a logic3 converter which allow me to use a ps1 or 2 memory card on a ps3 but it's not much use to me because only ps1 original games can work on the version ps3 i have....so i have my ps2 set up right next to it... also got my 32" hi def tv and realize how crappy ps2 looks on it but it looks ok on a standard tv
