DVD + R burning problem with pioneer 116d

I have an external pioneer 116d. I used this drive to burn image files onto blank dual layer media. It doesnt even go 1 percent and it gives me an error. The media that i was using was datawrite 2.4x 8.5gb dual layer dvds. Also i was using clonecd and then i tried imgburn and that never worked either. Can anyone help me pls.

What do the data write discs code out as. They may just be poor quality discs. I use ritek ridata 2.4x +r with good success.

Others here swear by verbatim 2.4 x +r made in singapore
