well, this is my situation
first of all, i got my R4 in Taiwan during summer and i let the guy help me with the downloading kernel part..so i really have no idea how he did it
so then it work perfectly fine until recently i realized that the free space wouldn't decrease even when i deleted the games
and so i google about the problem and took the suggestion of reformatting the Micro SD
and now i am stuck at the part of downloading the kernel
however, i did download them and drag and drop on to my mirco SD but it wouldn't work
i even look at all the tread about using the chinese version of R4
and did download the Tchinese but no matter what i drag and drop when i turn on my DS it got stuck on the screen that says 'loading...'
so..i really don't what my problem is and..i am pretty sure i get the real R4..so..i hope you guys can help me sovle my problem..

Hey

have you tried going to the website. they have a good walkthrough on how to set it up though it can get confuing if u have no idea what it is talking about.

Hi,

Most firmware I saw when extracted ended up like this:

\English
\French

You cannot have those directories.

Extract to your hard drive

C:\Test\English\files_here

Them move all the files from "Files_Here" to the ROOT of your SD Card.

\English will not work !

You havent downloaded the right firmware. This is what you have to do...

(if you havent already you will need to download
winRAR to open the files)

1. Delete everything on your MicroSD Card.

2. Download this latest firmware (it has to be this particular one). http://www.ndslr4.com/soft/25-en.htm. Extract it and copy and paste the 5 files straight onto the microSD card through the computer. These 5 files are...

'moonshl' folder

'_system_' folder

'_DS_MSHL.NDS' file

'DS_MENU.INI' file

'_DS_MENU.DAT' file

3. Then put microSD card into the R4 device and it should load up fine. If you want to put ROMS on there, just download them and copy and paste them straight to microSD card.

This should work. .there is a Online manual at this address if you need to read it. http://www.ndslr4.com/product-en.htm

i hope this helps this is what worked with mine.(mine was coming up
with loading screen)
