Download and install AnyDVD (it will require a restart). You get 21 days to evaluate before you have to pay a penny.
Make sure AnyDVD is running - pop in lost season 4 disc 1 and wait while anydvd scans the disc. When its done just run DVD Shrink as normal and it will work. I'm currently on disc 2.

You're lucky because this post is the 1st result on google when searching for "DVD Shrink Lost Season 4"

I found the solution elsewhere and registered here just to help you. What a good citizen I am, honestly it makes me all warm and fuzzy on the inside.

You can have latest anydvd running. Then let ripit4me do it's thing.
When setting up dvd decrypter, need to uncheck "check for stucture protection" and enable elby cdio interface instead of spti.

THat should do it

LoL. I just started. Havnt watched season 1. Im about to run season one through Rebuilder. Though I must admit. Ive encountered more problems then I expected. If I cant get these bugs worked out... its back to the old faithful, SHRINK. I consider myself to be above average on the technically advanced. Rebuilder is substantially different than SHRINK though. Never worked with scripts, or any of the technical jargen used therein. Dr. divx is probably the most technical ive used. AND ITS NOT.

Just to let you all know I've now done the first 4 discs (the last 2 are just bonus material). I had no problems just using AnyDVD and DVD Shrink

Decrypter is pretty outdated man. Anydvd is the dvd god! Soon to be bluray god! FAB is ok. What kind of errors? I wanna ask if your disc has scratches but im unsure of what kind of errors your getting. Most roms/writers give up if they cant read them. But... I had an NEC at one time that didnt like giving up. It would read anything I put in there. But at the end of its life, those scratches caused glitches in the video. Plus I was a HEAVY HEAVY smoker around my computer at that time. My computer will never see me smoke again.
Apparently technology can get cancer too. :)

I gather ABC studios is going ape... Crazy with the encryption as well? Either that or, your dvd player is a walmart brand apex, or worse? When I first started my...Pirate career, I owned an apex. Nothing but problems. Little did I know, It wasnt the dvds, it wasnt my computer, and it wasnt the encryption. Heck... encryption was nothing at the time. Get yourself a sony, pioneer, Magnavox, NAMEBRAND etc. Oh.. if it has a DIVX logo, even better. More compatability. Mmmm... Could be cheap dvd media too.
Taiyo Yuden and verbatim, Are the only discs allowed near my burners. For comparisons only, Sometimes I run others.

Okay, I got several of these techniques to work finally, but no matter which technique Ive used, none of the burned DVDs have played, either in my computer or my set-top player. They don't even register as DVD video disc in the autorun popup window on my computer, the first option it highlights is to "open folders to view files". I've been working on this for three days and my disgust level is reaching vomitous status. I know there has to be at least one person having the same problems as me...

DVD Decrypter keeps pooping up little "red X" windows saying:

"On-the-fly IFO/BUP file patching failed! [file name] Reason: Invalid IFO / BUP file."

This is with AnyDVD running and RipIt4me managing DVD Decrypter. Any help here would be awesome, because my rage is making me feel ill...

glurk - you need to give us more to go on. Such as what worked re ripping and a load of info re how you burnt the discs...

edit- you'd just added a new post. Cool, that's a start.
I can't help with ripit4me as have never needed to use it before.

edit- you're not supposed to run AnyDVD alongside ripit4me are you ???

Ha ha. I have gotten there now. AWESOME show. Latest anydvd worked for me. I dont know about fab decrypter but... anydvd worked. Well... it did give me errors at first. But a retry seemed to work. I believe it simply didnt like doing more than one at a time. I restarted anydvd to purge the mem( I THINK) did them one at a time, and bingo :D

To delete, or not to delete. THAT is the question!

I thought AnyDVD HAD to be running to emulate an unprotected disc. I successfully ripped Disc 1 to my HDD using AnyDVD's built-in ripper, and everything went fine in DVD Shrink. I burned the ISO file using Nero 7 just like I always do (which always works), but the burned discs refuse to even kick my set-top player off it's Samsung welcome screen. In Windows Media Player they only show me a black screen for around 20 seconds then it stops playing.

How do I edit a previous post?

Anyway, in my last post I said that I ripped Disc 1 using AnyDVD. That was a seperate attempt from the one where I used RipIt4me and DVD Decrypter. I just wanted to clear that up. I've tried all the softwares (except DVDfab) in several combinations and with several configurations and several of them have worked just fine, but the burned discs just won't play.
