My son dropped his Ds lite, now it won't turn on. the on light comes on but the screens don't come on.
at first it was intermittently but now not at all.
I have taken it apart, but I can't find any brocken or dislodged parts.

any input is welcomed!

Thanks,
Stu.

Your problem description is not specific enough to really help.

1) If you plug in the charger, does the charge LED come on?
2) When you power the unit on with the switch, what does the activity (other LED) do? ON, OFF, blink momentarily?
3) Do either of the screens come one at all, even briefly?

This will get us a little farther than what you have described.

Hi, Thankyou for your reply...

when I plug the charger in, the charging light comes on as normal.
when I switch the Ds on by its switch, the green light comes on as normal.
none of the screens come on at all.

If you put in a game does it play music from the game, like the title screen music, or is it completely dead?

If it does, then the board is still functioning (a little).

The fact that the power LED stays on indicates that you have a connection between both screens and the logic board.

In al likelihood it sounds like you need a replacement logic board (not available new, you have to buy a broken unit with a working logic board) , but unless you're willing to gamble on finding working used parts to swap in and out, you're probably better off having it repaired or selling the broken one as-is and buying a new one.

I bought a new Ds last week and swapped the batteries over, I used the broken Ds to charge the new battery while my son played on the new Ds.
the new battery charged fine in the broken Ds but it still didn't work.
