Audio will not start automatically

I am a newbie to DVD ripping. I ripped a DVD movie to .avi format using Xilisoft DVD Ripper Platinum 5. If I press play on my software video player on my PC, I only see the movie with no audio. As soon as I fast forward or rewind I suddenly get the audio I was missing.

Is there any fix for this please.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I should use different software to rip DVD movies?

yeah i would use better ripping software there are only two we recommend anydvd or dvdfab decrypter. all your options/info/guides are here. could be the DVD player though, which audio are you keeping? the two channel? or the 5.1 channel?
