i just recently bought a car with stock speakers that sounds like shit lol I have no knowledge of hooking up car speakers so I was just thinking about getting an inverter and getting these pc speakers

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121012

and then plug my mp3 player into the speakers. i dont wanna really spend too much money so if I went with car speakers Id have to get the car speakers, amp, sub woofer, and a car stereo with aux support which seems to be SO much more expensive then those speakers and this inverter

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882011010

which only adds up to 170 bucks. i really dont wanna fuck around with wiring car speakers and what not. But im just wondering if the pc speaker setup is wise to go with in cars?

I am confused as to your explainations. I do not know of any speakers that let you plug an mp3 into them plus a speaker would only have one channel.

I suspect you will hear louder music but the speakers will not improve the fidelity. I bet your real problem may be the stock player not the stock speakers. Your player is probably not HD and changing the speakers will not help.

you would just plug the speakers into the mp3 headphone jack and I have a converter that will convert those 3 cords (green yellow and black) into a single cord so i will be able to have surround sound, its worked for me before with other settings ive used it in.

i also do not have a stock stereo, im not too sure wat it is but Alpine makes it and it was in there when I bought the car. The guy i bought the car from had the exact same setup (inverter with pc speakers) and it sounded fine really loud with alot of bass so I doubt its the stereo

Best advice would be too, save up your money.
Get a proper headunit, amp and speakers, Find a good car stereo shop to do the install for you.
You'll be a lot happier in the long run.

What your trying to do now is going to sound horrible and you won't be happy with it.

DDRgod922, I understand what you are tying to do. I would go for it. Report back after you get it going. If worse comes to worse you might have to pay for installation. However, it sounds like it might be wired if the previous owner had the same set up. The main thing is you heard the set up and liked it. This way you save 500+ bucks.
