I Downloaded the latest full version yesterday.
from reading threads this is supposed to be a award winning software.
i then converted hellboy II avi to dvd rip format using convertxtodvd....that went fine after 2 hours ish.
avi plays fine on the pc by the way.
It then burnt the dvd to a philips 4.7gb dvd media disc
that finished as well.
problem is the god damn dvd doesn't play on any dvd player i have.
i.e. pc dvd drive using avs dvd player software, xbox360, home theatre dvd player etc....

any ideas what's wrong.
i had a problem before doing this with nero 7 as well.
dvd would burn the movie to disc and when playing it, it would freeze half way through the disc.
would the dvd burner be on it's last legs?

Have you ever made a playable DVD with the Philip's discs?

Seeing as you have Nero use Nero CD-DVD Speed and do a Transfer Rate test on the burn.

You want it to look similar to this:

The Nero problem you describe sounds media related.

Philip's dvd's are not verry good media, try useing verb's or ty's, also don't multitask and keep burning speed 6x or less. keep useing crap media and you will still be having the problems you were posting about!

it really annoys me when i see threads where they blame the media being used.
i got the dvd to work by using convertxtodvd to convert and then used imgburn to burn to dvd.

problem solved and not the media.

You are at the wrong place then. If you think all media is the same and all burners burn any media equally well, you are mistaken.
