So, I recently obtained a copy of a computer game. It came to me broken up on two iso files. I tried to use ultra iso and just copy the files into an empty folder. Some of the files got overwritten but the software would not boot after that. I tried booting it using Daemon tools. Any ideas on how to merge the two isos together? They can't simply be merged though, because that causes the files to be overwritten. I need the interior files to merge as well.

Are you sure the game doesn't come in two CD's? What size ISO files are they? (that might be the hint). Did you mount any of the two ISO files to see if they play correctly?

well answer to your first question: the first is about the size of a dvd so 4.7gb and he second its like 1.5gb. I mounted the larger one, it began to install and then seemed to stop.

So 2 disk images of a multi disk game.. probably need burning and then still won't work unless you read and follow the instructions that were posted with them.

There are always instructions with a game disk image upload.. either in the details of the files on the originating torrent site, or as a readme or nfo file with the actual files.

Hola. With the tiniest of clues given, a crystal ball is needed.

Take Varnulls advice and get or read the txt/nfo file for that game download.
Just on the off chance that you don't have or cannot get the instruction file(s), obtain the game from elsewhere. Make the effort/decision and you'll be a happy gamer once again.

Cheers.

Yes thank you. The nfo would have helped. Although, I resolved the problem. My dumbass was not patient enough to actually allow the installation to finish... Apparently install shield is smart enough to know that files are missing and allows you to switch isos(discs in my case now) in the middle of the install... Sorry all and thanks for the help. But even so, it would be interesting to know if there is such a program that allows you to merge isos.

There are times when we say to ourselves "should I ask or shouldn't I?" rofl. This is just one of those moments when the answer should've been "yes".
Good to know that all is ok now though. Enjoy that game 8a11...
