Hey,
Running win98se
creative sound blaster audigy platinum

I installed ventrilo and team speak onto my pc, software which allows you to communicate on online multiplayer games through a microphone and all was going ok, i then went into call of duty (PC game) around 8:45 and forgot to close something. i then tried to go back into cod and then suddenly the problems started. my sound card is now not being recognised although it does make awful microsoft closing and opening application sounds. Cod wont startup without crashing my pc, and when i try to install the creative cd, it says that i have multliple audio devices running and thats wots causing the problems. i unistalled team speak/ ventrilo to no effect.

Although earlier in the night i plugged in a playstation 2 headset microphone from the socom game and windows happily installed drivers to run it. Although it didnt actually work so i removed it from my computer/ properties box and double checked on the add/ remove programs in control panel.

I have thus uninstalled the above mentioned programs and yet when i go to install the creative cd with drivers and software on it still says multiple audio devices found.

if anyone has any ideas they would be much appreciated.
