What programs would work for copying games. I have both English (purchased here) and ones bought in Japan?
Would this be a job for DVD SHRINK and/or nero or what?
Thanks for any insight.

Simpliest method:
DVD Decrypter ---> ISO Mode ---> Straight back-up image ---> Burn with Decrypter.

Yeah, was assuming it was a PS2. most Xbox users seem to say Xbox when they post, whereas PS2 users seem to assume that everyone knows they are talking about a PS2. Just something i've noticed over a while ;-)

xbox original dvds are read backwards that's why only a xbox dvd-rom can rip it to an xbox hd. Once you have a backup on a DVD+R you can easily use DVDDecrypter to rip to an .iso and DVDDecrypter to burn that .iso.

Do you still need to use a mod chip with these copied games? If so, is there a way to copy PS2 games and play them without a mod chip???

I know for xboxes it needs to be modded to read some discs, but i think it depends on whether the disc can be read by the sony drive and whether the game was able to fit properly, (aren't ps2 games bigger than a 4.7 gb disc, or is that only xbox?) but general rule of thumb is you have to mod your console.
