Nero 7 Essentials: Update Uninstalls Nero

When I click to download and apply updates to Nero 7 Essentials Nero Uninstalls the existing Nero 7 Essentials then reboots. Unfortunately nothing happens after that. Nero disappears from my hard drive and I have to re-install it from the disk.

I tried updating earlier in the year and had the same problem. I forgot what happened last time which is why I tried updating now.

Hi I had the exact problem and this happens with other upgrades that uninstall old versions.. I will assume you have win vista?
I tried disableing UAC to see if it would work and it worked fine. UAC has caused me alot of problems so thats the first thing I try when I have problems, I really dont recommend disableing it for good though.
To disable UAC goto control panel clk classic view then clk user accounts/turn user account control on/off then unclick the check and clik ok and then reboot. Then try upgradeing again it should work. Also note I had to manually download the update from the nero website (Nero-7.11.10.0_all_update) from nero the auto update on nero would not work for me and told me to go manually download the update.
PS I updated because Nero vision freezes at the splash screen on vista 64 but the update did not fix this.
