Burning .nrg file (wavs) to dvd-r or hard-drive???

What is the proper procedure for burning a .nrg (nero image) file of audio wav files to media or hard-drive when it can not be burned to cd-r due to being greater than 700mb and not having a 800mb cd-r. This file is 708mb and the second .nrg file is 717mb, the overburn feature within nero appeared not to be compatible with either my cd-burner or cd-r's (philips cd-r80s...48x). Is it possible to burn to dvd-r, if not is it possible to somehow extract these files to harddrive to selectively remove a few and then burn.? Thanks in advance to all.
