Okay, here's the crux of it:

Recently my PS2 got moved from one room in the house to another because I switched bedrooms. I don't remember banging it or anything, and I would be careful not to in general. When I fired up the PS2 the controllers wouldn't work. (The analog light does not brighten, no buttons work, the dvd-controller transmitter doesn't work either. Both ports.) I already tried double-checking all the connections.

If somebody has heard about this before, or thinks they might know what the problem is, don't hold back because I feel like there's a 50/50 shot my console is dead!

Is this a fat or slim PS2?

Have you ever open your PS2 before? If so, maybe the ribbon cable got loose?

It's fat. I've opened the case before, but it was several months ago. I could check to see if they are loose.
