Hi Internet,

Here is a link to a free ROM transfer management program that pretty much eliminates the tedious process of moving ROMs and save files to and from an R4.

It can be found here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/dsgt/

Features

- Supports R4
- Detects whether or not your card is plugged into the PC
- Keeps track of how much room is available on your card taking into account the games you have selected
- Lets you create multiple sets of games (called 'profiles') that you can select from a drop down
- One click backs up the save files on your card, transfers the selected games to the card and puts previous save files for those games onto the card
- Contains a help file that walks you through the simple configuration that needs to be done and explains the software features
- Looks pretty

Technical Stuff

It's a Java program. There is currently only a Windows installer though. The application however, should run on all other platforms that support Java 1.6 or higher. Someone can modify the build scripts to create other installers if desired (you maybe?).

The software is free and the license is completely open. Please feel free to download the code, examine it, compile it, run it, change it, add a feature, do whatever you would like.

Anyone who wants to make official changes should go through the ususal SourceForge process.

Cheers,

DSGT

I'd like to try this software out but I'm running OS X. Can you post the source and buildscripts to the Source Forge page and I'll compile it for myself and give it a go.

(i'm a Java Dev by the way so if I can think of any advice i'll let you know)

Cheers

Hi evil_rat,

You can either go to the sourceforge project and go to the 'code -> svn' menu item (you might have to click on 'more' first to see it) for instructions on getting the source code.

Or just follow this link:

http://sourceforge.net/svn/?group_id=245356

I failed to mention that under the documentation menu item, you can find a link to build instructions.
