HELP!! My ps2 plays on its own

I just got a second hand ps2 and i bought brand new controllers i set it up but when i plug in the controller in port 1 it just plays on its own i cant press anything or stop it.

Anyone got any ideas whats wrong????

Probably the analog sticks stuck in a depressed position. Try moving it in a circular motion or press on it.

it only does it when either controller is plugged in it cant b the same prob with both

It can be both IF the controllers are for the PS1 and the game your playing is PS2. Some PS2 games won't work with PS1 controllers. Try friend's controller to see if that is the problem
