Aight guys, im a newbie, but aint all that lost.
I used TMPGEnc to encode an .avi file into an MPEG-2 file with-out any problem. Then i used it for another .avi file that is 110mins and i used your Guide: AVI to DVD. On the last part just before clicking to encode the file, (which AVIcodec showed 25fps, so i used PAL, and showed 110mins), TMPGEnc showed +117% and the file was in red......i also noticed on the top TMPGEnc showed the file to be 25 fps but 293min?!?!?! I don't understand this and the .avi file doesn't seem to be corupt cause it plays just fine in divx. OK so any help would ne much appreciated, thx for yr time.

Please turn CAPS lock off when posting in Forum (as it is deemed as shouting).

The easiest way to take avi/xvid/divx to DVD is to use MainConcept Encoder 1.4 :
OPTIONS
DVD (so it will produce MPEG2 DVD compliant output)
PAL (would be my option as I live in Europe)
Program (Video+Audio) <--- so no re-mux of video & audio needed.
Layer2

Will take about 2hr 30min for a 750MB for instance & output will be around 4GB MPEG2 file.
Which we now use in TMPGEnc DVD Author to convert to VOB format , ready for burning in VIDEO_TS folder.

TMPGEnc DVD Author will take about 40-50 mins or so.

I use the method (above) as it creates good video quality & is a lot quicker than nearly all other encoding methods.

Anyway , hope I've helped...
