Hi, first time user - great looking site. Could somebody please help.
I have 12 .avi movies I made and want to make a DVD.

I'm using NeroVision Express 3, and I simply want my main menu to have two buttons/links; one to "Play movie" and one for "Scene selection" - just like all my "normal" DVDs have.

I've created the scenes (titles) all right, and it looks great, but I want to have just the one main menu. Is this possible? I've played and searched for hours in the "edit menu" layouts etc. to no avail, and I can only seem to be able to edit the menu for a miniDVD?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The sort answer is Sony DVD Architect.
This is a fantastic application if you want Proffesional Finish on your DVD...
Full control of Menu Design
Multiple Audio/Video Tracks
Subtitles
I could go on...
Only draw back with DVD Architect is with Compressed AVI...
Sometimes it misses or ignores one of the streams...
Pegasys TMPGEnc can often fill the gap there...
If the audio is compressed to MPEG Layer 3 this can be missed by Architect... AC3 can be a problem for TMPGEnc...
Recommend CoDecs in first, Then Architect...
Go into options and look for reference to Third Party CoDecs and tell it Not to ignore them...
If it ignores any streams, try getting TMPEGEnc to encode to Elementary Streams and import them into Architect... Time consuming stuff unless your PC is a beast or you compromise on quality...
If above fails yet and you are keen to do menus manually, you could use AVI2DVD to make VOBs (Video Objects) without menus, then use TMPGEnc to split the streams, Vegas to stitch them back into complete streams (coz the VOBs will be in sections, probably 1Gb), and then Architect to structure VOBs with Manually Created Menu (and whatever other feature you find you can include while you peruse Architect :-) )

Hope this helps...
